In spite of this, or perhaps because of it, I realize that one of the greatest tragedies of the modern age is the child-soldier. The conscription of kids who should be carrying a plastic Mattel M-16 instead of a functioning Kalashnikov AK47 is a problem that UNICEF is addressing by a number of means, one of which are the sending of these to potential donors.
